Stratosphere Layer

Stratosphere Layer

The stratosphere layer is the second layer of Earth's atmosphere.  Ozone is a type of oxygen molecule that is abundant in this layer.  It heats this layer as it absorbs energy from incoming ultraviolet radiation from the Sun.  This layer is very dry.  Air contains little water vapor and because of this, few clouds are found in this layer.
